Two New York classics, one little cup. Creamy NY-style cheesecake on the bottom, buttery cinnamon crumb on top, and a smooth coffee flavor running through the whole thing, courtesy of our limited-edition Lean Whey New York Cawfee Cake.

No cottage cheese. No applesauce. No weird swaps you can taste. Just a real cheesecake that happens to pack about 20g of protein per serving.

Ingredients

Cheesecake:

  • 4 oz (113g) light cream cheese (⅓-less-fat / Neufchâtel) + 4 oz (113g) fat-free cream cheese, both softened
  • 1½ cups (340g) plain nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 2 scoops (70g) MuscleSport Lean Whey New York Cawfee Cake
  • 2 large egg whites (or ¼ cup liquid egg whites), room temperature
  • 1 tsp instant espresso powder (optional, for extra coffee punch)
  • 1–2 tbsp zero-calorie granulated sweetener (optional; taste the batter first)

Cinnamon Crumb:

  • 3 tbsp (23g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp (9g) butter, melted, plus 1 tsp water
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp zero-calorie brown sugar substitute (optional)

Instructions

  1. Toast the crumb. Heat oven to 350°F. Mix flour, cinnamon and brown sugar sub, then stir in the melted butter and water with a fork until clumpy. Spread on a small parchment-lined tray and bake 8 minutes until lightly golden. Set aside and lower the oven to 325°F.
  2. Prep the pan. Line a standard 6-cup muffin tin with paper or silicone liners and lightly spray them.
  3. Make the batter. Beat both cream cheeses together until completely smooth (no lumps now = no lumps later). Add Greek yogurt and beat again. Add the protein powder and espresso powder and mix on low just until combined. Taste, and add sweetener if you want it sweeter. Beat in the egg whites last, on low, just until blended.
  4. Fill and top. Divide batter evenly between the 6 cups (they'll be nearly full; cheesecake barely rises). Sprinkle the toasted crumb over the tops and press lightly.
  5. Bake low and slow. Bake at 325°F for 18–22 minutes, until the edges are set and the centers still jiggle slightly.
  6. Cool, then chill. Turn the oven off, crack the door and leave them in for 10 minutes. Cool to room temp on the counter, then refrigerate at least 3 hours. They set up creamy and sliceable in the fridge.
